BORN AGAIN?

A lot of people today profess to be born again. Many preachers and evangelists always start their preaching with “are you born again?” “When did you become born again?” With these, it signifies that many know the importance of being born again [Yehocanan (John) 3:3 gave an answer]. The issue becomes- how can one be born again and even knowing how, are you truly born again?

 Just as every human life cycle starts with a seed sown, which germinates to a baby, so is being born again. Born again is the commencement of a life cycle (spiritual according to Yehocanan 3:5-7). It is the start of one’s journey as a child of God, which just like the physical birth starts with sowing of a seed. Every true child of God must pass through this stage, I mean, be born again. How, then, can this seed be sown and what is the seed? Yehocanan 3:5 said that born again is of water and the spirit. Certain preachers propound that the water is baptism while the spirit is the Holy Spirit but this is not true. The water and the spirit, referred to, are one and same thing. Armed with the fact that the Bible is here a little, there a little, let us look at some other parts. Apostle Shimonkepha wrote in 1 Kepha (Peter) 1:23 that born again is through the incorruptible seed which is the word of God. He even went further in chapter 2:2 to declare that after born again, one becomes as a new born babe, desiring the sincere milk of the word. This explains that it is through the word of God (which is the seed) that one becomes born again. Seeing the seed, what step does one take so as to receive the seed, as such becomes born again? This is answered by Yehocanan 1:12-13. To obtain the power to become the son of God (both for male and female) means the same as being born again. For one to receive the power, he/she must Receive him (the Word) Believe in his name. You can only receive him by receiving whomever he sent (Mat. 10:40). An issue arises today that a lot of people have gone out into the world claiming that they were sent. As such, how do we know who is a true sent one? The second part of receiving the power- believe in his name- comes into play. Anyone, sent of him, must come in his name. Our savior, today, is referred to with many names such as Jesus, Joshua, Yahshua, Yahoshua, Yeshua, etc but his name is YEHOSHUA. It is by believing in his name, Yehoshua, that one can be truly born again. Finally, born again is through the word of God, gotten by receiving our savior, via whomever he sent. Anyone he sent must come in his name, Yehoshua. Though it does not stop at being born again, one needs to grow spiritually from babyhood to a mature man [Ephesians 4:13-14] which is by abiding in his word.
