A trademark is a symbol or word that creates a distinction between one thing and others. It is also called emblem, stamp or badge. Thus, the trademark of God, which all the children of God must bear, makes them different from others. It is an idiosyncrasy or special attribute every child of God must portray so as to be truly one. What, then, is this trademark?
Revelation 1:2, 9- the word of God and the testimony of Yehoshua
Revelation 6:9- the word of God and the testimony
Revelation 12:17- the commandments of God and the testimony of Yehoshua
Revelation 14:12- the commandments of God and the faith of Yehoshua
Thus, looking through these places, the mark of God is of two arms- the word/commandments of God and the testimony/ faith of Yehoshua. These two are so interwoven and interdependent that no one can take one and leave the other. (They both sum up to the TRUTH every child of God must possess).
The commandments /word of God is the ten commandments of God, also called the Covenant of God while the testimony/faith of Yehoshua is the teachings and actions of Yehoshua (which is also called the grace of Yehoshua/ yoke of liberty).
The Ten Commandments, as we all know, is as stated in Exodus 20:1-17 and Deut. 5:6-21 unchanged. Some people claim that some of the commandments have been changed but it is false. The change in the Covenant as stated in Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Hebrews 8:8-13, is that it became old and was renewed. It only became old because men broke it. Thus, the new one, containing the same ten commandments as the old, was not on tablets of stone but written in our hearts. The testimony of Yehoshua is all the teachings and actions of Yehoshua. What actually are the teachings and deeds of Yehoshua? All he taught and the life he lived are all written by Moshe (Moses) and the prophets as stated in Yehocanan (John) 5:44-47.
The fact lies in that sin came because of the disobedience to the word/commandments of God. God made a promise of solution to sin to Abraham but while waiting for it, he gave the Law through Moses. The reason for the Law, as stated in Galatians 3:19, is that it taught everything about sin- what sin is, how it came about and the solution to it. According to Titus 2:11, the duty of the Grace to save us from sin. Thus, comparing the two, we see that the Law wrote all about the Grace and the bearer of the Grace [Matt. 5:17, 11:13; Luke 24:27, 44; Yehocanan 1:45]. The Grace will save you from sin (caused by disobedience to the word/ commandments of God) and teach you to keep the commandments (which Titus 2:11 stated as avoiding ungodliness and worldly lust). Also, the grace acts as a mediator between God and man especially when one fails at any point in keeping the covenant.
Finally, everyone seeking to be saved must first obtain the testimony of Yehoshua through being born again (see the article BORN AGAIN) then be in covenant relationship with God. So, every child of God must possess the trademark- the word/commandments of God and the testimony/faith of Yehoshua.
Then what is the difference between this mark of God and the seal of God in 2nd Timothy 2:19
